St. Helens Winter Guard takes fourth
The St. Helens High School Winter Guard took home a fourth-place award at its home competition, the Columbia River Winter Arts Invitational, on Saturday, Feb. 24. The team was up against seven others in their division. During the event, which also serves as a major fundraiser for the team, volunteers coordinated with local food vendors and businesses to offer tasty treats, screen-printed t-shirts, candy, flower grams and other items for visitors. The winter guard now readies for its next competition on Saturday, March 17, at Sherwood High School, along with the winter percussion line. The guard performs at 11 a.m. and the percussion line performs at 5 p.m.
