Oregon crowns a new Dairy Princess

by: Submitted photo

A Tillamook County woman was crowned the 2012 Oregon Dairy Princess-Ambassador last month at the Oregon Dairy Women's 53rd annual coronation.

Kristen Kaste (pictured right) won $3,000 in scholarships with more to come after her reign. She was picked after two days of evaluations.

There were seven finalists including Columbia County's own Teri McGettigan (pictured left).

The Oregon Dairy Princess-Ambassador scholarship program is for young women like McGettigan who work, or have a family background, in the dairy industry. They spend the year promoting dairy farming and dairy products.
