Wilsonville tops Lions soccer team

Coach says team a little intimidated

Wilsonville downed the St. Helens High boys soccer teams last Thursday with a convincing 5-0 win.

The Lions have struggled at times this season and that has been frustrating for Coach Ryoma Ajisawa.

St. Helens was coming off a 3-1 win at Roosevelt on Monday, but the coach felt the team was a little intimidated by Wilsonville.

He said the Lions were up against well-seasoned players, many of whom play on classic or premier teams off-season.

The Lions have to figure out how to score, play with some urgency, and hone their skills on club teams in the off-season, the coach said.

St. Helens was at Liberty on Tuesday and hosts Parkrose this Thursday. Next Tuesday they travel to Sandy.
