St. Helens wins five of six XC triple duals

St. Helens boys win three, girls two in four-way meet


The St. Helens High cross country teams had a good showing in three dual meets at Liberty last Wednesday.

The St. Helens’ boys won all three of their meets against Liberty, Milwaukie and Sandy. Bryan Strang, Nathan Reed, and David Sumsion were 1-2-3 overall, while Casey Cooke was seventh, and Tanner Boyle 11th.

The girls won two of their three dual meets, losing only to Liberty.

Top effort for the girls included Emily Hepworth, Cynthia Fenrich, and Megan Waite finishing 8-9-10 overall. Alyna Habel was 14th.

St. Helens will host another triple dual meet this Wednesday at McCormick Park. District is next Wednesday at Blue Lake. Scappoose will also participate in that race against Cowapa League teams.
