St. Helens finished the season with a 7-6-2 record, a marked improvement over last season. The team was 3-4 in league play but made the play-in round of the state tournament. They were eliminated at West Albany, but not before tying the game in the last seconds of the match, forcing a 20 minute overtime session, and finally losing on the eighth penalty kick.

Freshman Ashley Giesbers, a forward, scored 21 goals on the season and was selected for the all-league second team. Senior Regan Duarte, a midfielder, was also named to the second team.

Receiving honorable mention were: Toni Bair, senior defender; Dana Sukau, senior goalie; Brie Maye, senior midfielder; and Stevie Strawn, junior midfielder.

The Lady Lions lose six seniors from this year’s team, but return 11 players including six freshmen.

It was Coach Simon Date’s first year at the helm of the squad.
