Lady Indians dominate soccer all-league

Ariel Viera named Player of the Year for third time

Viera was Cowapa League Player of the Year.It seems fitting that the girls soccer team that outscored their league opponents 84-4 should have the Cowapa League Player of the Year and seven girls on the all-league first team.

Ariel Viera, a senior, was named Player of the Year for the league. Through last Saturday she had scored 116 goals, third best in state history. She was also the Player of the Year the previous two years. Already an all-state player, she is a candidate for 4A Player of the Year.

First team selections included: Charlie Davidson, a junior; Lucy Davidson, a freshman; Molly Orr, aMOLLY ORR senior; Eleanor Jones, a freshman; Emily Muth, a sophomore; and Natalie Muth, a freshman.

The Davidsons and Muths are sisters.

Honorable mention went to senior Amara Templin.

The Lady Indians lost to Gladstone Nov. 13 in the 4A state semifinals ending their season.
