Lady Indians tapped for volleyball honors

Three Lady Indians recognized in Cowapa League

Phlycia Haigh and Lexine Loos were both named to the first team. Cassidy Herb received honorable mention. All three are seniors.

Scappoose finished the season with a 14-10 record and tied for second in the league. They finished last the year before.

The team went to the play-in round as the No. 3 seed, and won a 3-1 match at Baker to make the state playoffs. They faltered at La Grande in state in a 3-0 loss.

The team loses five players from this year’s team, but returns four plays and had a strong jayvee team.

Coach Mark Sprenger returned to coach the team this past season after a three-year absence. He is expected to coach the team again this coming season.
