Second half proves problematic for Indians

Indians lead both Molalla and Estacada but falter in the end

The Tribe lost the game after leading.The Scappoose Indians have been doing a lot of things right, but they stumbled with two poor second halves in games against Molalla and Estacada last week.

The Tribe led Molalla by eight at halftime Tuesday, but was outscored 39-15 in the second half, losing 58-42. They had a smaller lead at Estacada on Friday, 22-18, at halftime, but fell behind in the third period and couldn’t recover.

The Molalla game was troublesome for the Tribe. They were ahead 34-25 just three minutes into the period, but the visiting Indians went on a 16-2 run, took control and Scappoose never got back in it. They Indians did close to six points, but Molalla finished off the game with a 10-0 run.by: JOHN BREWINGTON - The Tribe's Mitchell Davis led the team in scoring with 16 points against Molalla.

Mitchell Davis led the Tribe in scoring with 16 points and Paul Revis was also in double figures with 13.

It was just a two-point lead for Estacada after three quarters, 32-30, but the Indians couldn’t shut down Ryan Vauthier in the final quarter. He scored 15 of his game-high 21 points in the fourth, including hitting six of six free throws. The Rangers sank 11 of 14 free throws in the period. Scappoose made five of eight free throws.

Kyle Kramer led the Tribe in scoring with 11, and Revis had 10.

The Indians were at Roosevelt this past Tuesday and host 5A Wilsonville this Friday. Monday, Dec. 17 they travel to R.A. Long.
