Tribe football players tapped 4A all-state

Six Scappoose players receive all-state notice in eight positions


oose was senior wide receiver and defensive back Paul Revis.

Revis was named to both the 4A first team offense and defense.

As a receiver he snagged 88 catches for 1,591 yards and 25 touchdowns. He also rushed 52 times for 469 yards and six more scores. In addition, he completed two of three passes for 125 yards and two touchdowns. Revis had a team-high 30 solo tackles and 54 assists.

Joining Revis on the first team were Matt Blaser, a senior offensive lineman, and Tyler Schillereff, a senior defensive lineman. Revis and Schillereff were Cowapa League Players of the Year on offense and defense, respectively.

Kyle Kramer, a senior, was name to the second team offense. He had 34 catches for 524 yards and seven touchdowns. Kenny Bell, a senior, had 15 solo tackles and 54 assists as an all-state second team defensive back.

Honorable mention went to Blaser as a defensive lineman and Mick Vanek, a senior, as linebacker.

Baker, the team that knocked Scappoose out of the playoffs and went on to the state title, received all of the major awards. Quarterback Braden Phillips was named Offensive Player of the Year and Trent Taylor, a linebacker, was chosen Defensive Player of the Year. Coach David Johnson was named Coach of the Year.

First Team Defense: Tyler Schillereff, sr., defensive lineman; Paul Revis, sr., defensive back.

Second Team Offense: Kyle Kramer, sr., wide receiver.

Second Team Defense: Kenny Bell, sr., defensive back.

Honorable Mention: Matt Blaser, sr., defensive lineman; Mick Vanek, sr., linebacker.
