Indians can't get the ball to drop during trip to La Salle Friday

by: JOHN BREWINGTON - Scappoose's Paul Revis splits two posts on his way to the hoop during a recent game.The Scappoose Indians fell off the pace in the first quarter at La Salle last Friday night and never really got their offense into gear the rest of the way.

The Tribe didn’t have a quarter in double digits during the game, while the Falcons scored at least 10 in every frame.

La Salle’s only loss of the season came against top ranked Cascade. The Falcons are 10-1 and ranked fourth overall in the OSAA power rankings.

Friday night they surged to a 15-5 lead after one period, and were up 29-14 by the break. A 21-9 third period put the game on ice.

The top scorer for Scappoose was Chris Tinning with 10 points, including two threes and four free throws made. La Salle had two players, Jacob McGraw and Sean Hays lead them in scoring with 18 points.

Scappoose dropped to 3-8 on the season. They were to host Canada in a game on Tuesday and Central on Friday. The Central match-up includes a girls varsity game at 5 p.m.

The Indians travel to Tillamook this coming Tuesday to open Cowapa League play.
