Tribe wrestlers pummel Astoria, Seaside

Visitors not much of a challenge for deep Tribe matmen

Burger King used to say “Have it your way” and that’s exactly what the Scappoose Indians did in routing Seaside and Astoria in a double dual match at Scappoose last Wednesday.

The Indians just lost one weight class against both the Gulls and Fishermen. Just one total.

The Tribe posted a 73-6 win over Seaside, and humbled Astoria, 78-0.

The Indians have another Cowapa League double dual next week at Banks with Yamhill-Carlton also competing. Their last league dual will be at Tillamook, their second meeting of the season. This past weekend the team lost a dual match to the ‘Mooks 36-18, but there were a lot of close matches.

Astoria gave up six forfeits, while Scappoose pinned six, five of them in the first round. There were two decisions. Against Seaside, the Indians picked up six forfeits, four pins, two technical falls, and a decision. The one match they lost was by a first-round pin.
