Boys' basketball: Scappoose falls at Wilsonville

The Indians give up big first and third quarters, and fall to 0-3 on the young season.

McNabb had eight points in the loss at Wilsonville, which kept the Tribe winless on the season.The Scappoose basketball team couldn’t recover from a woeful first quarter in a 70-42 loss to Wilsonville on the road Dec. 13.

The Tribe surrendered the first 15 points of the game, attempted just four shots in the first eight minutes and trailed 21-3 at the end of the first quarter.

Scappoose played the Wildcats almost evenly in the second and fourth quarters but was outscored 45-18 in the first and third quarters combined.

Chase Johnson and Jacob Wendelschafer each had nine points for Scappoose, Brennen McNabb chipped in eight and Boogie Davis added seven.

Wilsonville sophomore Tyler Hieb scored a game-high 27 points.
