Tribe golfers top Seaside, second at Arrowhead

Scappoose shoots some of their lowest team scores this year

The Scappoose High boys' golf team beat Seaside in a dual match at Quail Valley earlier in the month and then finished second behind powerful Sherwood in a tournament at Arrowhead.

Scappoose shot a collective 334 to Seaside's 367. Cody Stutzer shot an 81 to lead the Indians, while Alex Lukinbeal shot 83, Nick Nguyen 84, and Alex LaChance 86.

Coach Steve Hagen said the team had their lowest score of the season at Arrowhead in the Molalla Invitational. All five of the Tribe varsity was within four strokes of each other. Lukinbeal and Stutzer both shot 81. LaChance had his lowest score of the season with an 81, while Nguyen shot 84, and Ryan Karp had an 85.

The Indians were at the Tillamook Invitational on Tuesday, April 24 and will be at the Banks Invitational at Quail Valley on Thursday.

'The Indians continue to improve and are looking forward to playing this week,' Hagen said.
