Chamber of Commerce Brings Candidates, Measures to Voter’s Forum

The Sherwood Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Voter’s Forum to help citizens learn more about candidates for Sherwood mayor, city council, several statewide offices and key ballot initiatives impacting the business community and economic development.

Edy Ridge School is holding the event, on Thursday, Oct. 25 from 6 to approximately 7:30 p.m.

“The chamber is proud to help fill in voters’ research on important local offices and on ballot measures that will impact their financial future and the future of the community,” said Nancy Bruton, Sherwood Chamber of Commerce director. She will moderate the local candidate portion of the evening.

The chamber has invited Mayor Keith Mays and Bill Middleton, candidate for mayor, and candidates for Oregon Secretary of State, Oregon House District 26, and Oregon Labor Commissioner.

Also, proponents and opponents of “The Grange” resort development, “death tax” and kicker tax revisions and the Tonquin Employment Area, and candidates in contested Washington County races are invited to offer information to citizens in a “Voter’s Fair” before the forum. Sherwood’s three city councilors – Krissana Clark, Robyn Folsom and Linda Henderson -- running unopposed for re-election, will be introduced as well.

Candidates in the forum will be offered two questions from the

Sherwood Chamber of Commerce Community Affairs Committee and two questions submitted by audience members. There is no charge to attend the forum.
