The Sherwood School District announced Friday that a teacher at Sherwood High School has been placed on administrative leave for alleged misconduct.

The district said that an unnamed teacher at Sherwood High School was removed from the classroom on Monday while she is being investigated by the Washington County Sheriff's Office.

Neither the school district, nor the sheriff’s office would disclose details of the investigation, but Washington County Sheriff’s spokesman Sgt. Bob Ray said Friday that the county was investigating a female teacher after allegations were made by at least one Sherwood High School student.

The Sherwood School District said Friday that it had filed a report with the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission.

According to Sgt. Bob Ray, a spokesman with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said that more information should be made available Friday afternoon.
