CAT seeking homes for cats abandoned in Dumpster

by: COURTESY OF CAT ADOPTION TEAM - Hazel and Grace are looking for a home, hopefully together, after being discovered in a trash container last weekend. One week after two cats were discovered in a sealed Rubber-maid container placed in a Dumpster, the Sherwood-based Cat Adoption Team is trying to find homes for the young felines.

Adoption fees for each cat – dubbed Hazel and Grace – is $85. Since the cats are a “bonded” pair, their adoption fee will be reduced by $50 if someone takes both of the animals.

Hazel, a brown tabby who is now spayed, and Grace, an orange tabby who had already been spayed, were found March 23 at the Washington Square-area PetSmart. CAT officials said the pair would have suffocated if a PetSmart employee had not opened the container.

Anyone who knows something about how these cats ended up in the garbage container is asked to call the Beaverton Police at 503-629-0111.
