A 62-year-old woman died after the car she was traveling in struck a pole in Portland

A 62-year-old Sherwood woman was killed early Sunday morning after the vehicle she was riding in struck a power pole at Northeast 12th Avenue and Davis Street in Portland.

Constance Manrow died at the scene, according to Portland police.

Her husband, John Arthur Manrow, 58, who was driving a Dodge van, was taken to a Portland hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The couple was apparently traveling southbound on 12th Avenue when the vehicle struck the pole, according to preliminary information. No other vehicles were involved in the crash and it is not yet known what factors led to the crash, police said. An investigation is continuing.
