Eaglet and parents at home in new surroundings at refuge

Two adult eagles built a nest on the grounds of the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge and are caring for a young arrival.


by: COURTESY OF TOM DARNALL - An adult eagle and its eaglet were captured in this amazing photo by Tom Darnall taken May 18.Local photographer Tom Darnall captured this shot of an adult eagle and its eaglet (to the left of the adult eagle, obscured partially by a tree branch) at the Tualatin River National Wildlife Refuge on May 18. According to refuge officials, an adult pair of eagles began building a nest at the refuge in the past year and this is the first fledgling on the refuge. Darnall returned to the refuge on May 20 (below) for another shot of the pair.
