A newly formed Sherwood business ordinance committee will hold its first meeting on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Sherwood City Hall.
Selection of the nine-member group, charged with looking at ordinances regarding future Sherwood businesses that could ultimately be sent to Sherwood voters for approval, was made Tuesday.
Wednesdays meeting will include training on city committee rules and public meeting laws as well as adherence to timelines if its determined that ordinances will be placed on the November ballot.
Also, the group likely will begin discussing the types of ordinances they want to look at as well as selecting a chairman or chairwoman.
Formation of the committee is the result of public outcry following the announcement that Walmart plans to build a store in the city.
