Sheriff's deputies say an SUV brought down a power line after a drunk driver crashed her car Friday morning.Washington County sheriff’s deputies cited a woman after investigators said she crashed into a power pole near Sherwood, snapping it in half.

According to deputies, at about 11:11 a.m. Friday morning, investigators

responded to a single-vehicle crash along Southwest Tonquin Road after a 2003 BMW sport-utility vehicle crashed into a power pole.

Paramedics were already on the scene when deputies arrived and were examining 49-year-old Gail Feldman of Wilsonville.

Feldman, who deputies said was the driver of the vehicle, did not have any serious injuries but was acting abnormally. She was transported to Oregon Health and Science University hospital for observation.

Deputies said Feldman was drunk, driving recklessesly and had a blood-alcohol level “substantially higher than the legal limit of .08.”

The vehicle's impact brought the power pole crashing to the ground. Crews from Portland General Electric spent several hours replacing the pole, which shut down traffic in the area for about five hours.

Feldman was cited for driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving and criminal mischief.
