Local historian June Reynolds will be signing copies of her new book, "Somthing in the Sky," on Oct. 12 at the Sherwood Public Library
Sherwood author June Reynolds will be offering all of her fiction and nonfiction books – including her new teen novel, Something in the Sky for sale on Sat. Oct. 12 at the Sherwood Public Library.
A book signing for the new novel will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Something in the Sky is about a present-day teen who is impacted dramatically by the economic events of the day, said Reynolds. The story is based on an incident which happened in 2008. The main character, Lyle Kent, comes to Sherwood with some suburban skills and tries to cope with his familys bad luck. When he cant handle his situation any more, he has an adventure which is more than he bargains for.
Having been a high school teacher and librarian most of my 35-year career, I know the nature and situations surrounding teen life, said Reynolds. At the time of this incident, I was pretty close to the action of the kids, but did not know the whole story until long after it happened. When that happens, I only wish I could have helped more.
