James Wyant funeral set Saturday

The Sherwood resident died Monday


Services for James “Ed” Wyant, 47, will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, 17500 S.W. Cedarview Way. Wyant died peacefully in his sleep on Monday.

Born in Sturgis. S.D., on April 17, 1966, he moved to Oregon with his family as an infant. Raised in Wilsonville, he graduated from West Linn High School in 1985.

He married his wife Rhonda in 1991 and the couple had two children together. Wyant operated Ed’s excavating company, moving to Sherwood in 1997.

He was involved in coaching church softball and teaching Sunday school. In addition, he was committed to helping organizations such as St. Paul Lutheran Church and School, Camp Serene Lutheran Retreat and Doernbecher Children’s Hospital.

In his spare time, he enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle and dirt bike, singing karaoke, and playing the piano and guitar. He also fished and golfed.

He is survived by his children Danielle and Breanna; his mother Mary, a sister, Margaret; a brother Jay; nieces Shellie and Sarah; and nephew Brandon.

He was preceded in death by his father Pat and brother John.
