State Rep. Rich Vial, who represents a wide swath of Washington County, has scheduled a Town Hall meeting to update constituents on what happened during the 2017 legislative session.
But that session hasn't ended yet — a rare Saturday session is anticipated for tomorrow — so to hedge his bets, Vial scheduled the post-session town hall for Aug. 1.
The meeting is set for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, at Sherwood Center for the Arts, Main Hall, 22689 S.W. Pine St., Sherwood.
Topics likely will include legislation that was passed during the 2017 legislative session, the 2017-19 budget, taxes, education and transportation.
Vial said State Sen. Kim Thatcher has been invited to attend.
"It is important that our elected officials take time to meet with their constituents, answer questions and explain how our State's new laws will impact them," Vial said. "I also look forward to receiving their feedback and hearing their thoughts and concerns regarding the issues that still need to be addressed during future sessions."
Vial represents House District 26, which includes Scholls, Sherwood and parts of Wilsonville, King City, Tigard, Beaverton, Aloha and Hillsboro. Thatcher represents Senate District 13, which includes House District 26 as well as the areas of Keizer, Newberg and St. Paul.
