Willamette Valley Appliance hosts grand opening
On May 4, 2017 Willamette Valley Appliance celebrated its grand opening with a ribbon cutting with Sherwood Mayor Krissana Clark and the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce. Willamette Valley Appliance purchased Walt's Sherwood Appliance on Black Friday last year and has had a great first few months in this new location.
"We have increased sales 25 percent over last year," said Nigel Guisinger, the new owner whose vision is to have Willamette Valley Appliance be "the place" to buy appliances in the greater Portland and Salem Area.
Guisinger was joined at the grand opening by many members of the Sherwood Chamber of Commerce, his family, employees and previous owners Tom and Carol Vincent.
"When we decided to sell Walt's, we were so happy to know we were selling to Nigel," said Carol Vincent. "We knew he would care about this business, our customers and employees as much as we did."
Guisinger returned the sentiment by calling the Vincents friends and mentors.
Guisinger said he has big plans for the Sherwood location including plans to build an even bigger more up to date show room where he can properly display the high end brands they already carry like Miele, Fulgar Milano and Smeg.
Nigel Guisinger is Walt's Sherwood Appliances' third owner since it opened in 1980. Walter Cook sold to Tom Vincent in 1991. In 1996 Walt's was moved to its current location on Hwy 99. Guisinger currently has two other Willamette Valley appliance locations, one in Keizer and the other in Canby.
