OSU wins grant for concentrated solar energy research
Money is part of Obama SunShot Initiative
Oregon State University won an $800,000 grant from the U.S. Energy Department to advance concentrating solar power technologies, which use mirrors to magnify the impact of the sun's rays. The money is part of the SunShot Initiative of President Obama, which aims to promote renewable energy in a push likened to President Kennedy's 'moon shot' initiative.'The award was announced Wednesday, June 13, at the SunShot Summit and Technology Forumin Denver.
