Free event features film, lecture, panel discussion

The Portland Sustainability Institute hosts a discussion on Retrofitting Healthier Suburbs on Monday, June 19, including a lecture by Dr. Richard Jackson, host of the PBS series, 'Designing Healthy Cities.'

There also will be an abridged showing of Jackson's film, 'Retrofitting Suburbia,' followed by a panel discussion of local city planners and others.

The event is free and open to the public, at 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Metro Council Chambers, 600 N.E. Grand Ave. in Portland. No RSVPs are necessary.
