Portland reopens subsidy program

Portland’s Bureau of Environmental Services is reopening its subsidy program to encourage Portlanders to add ecoroofs, vegetated surfaces atop buildings that provide several environmental benefits.

The incentive pays $5 per square foot toward the cost of new ecoroofs, which typically cost $5 to $20 a square foot.

Industrial, residential, commercial and mixed-use projects are eligible.
