Get acquainted with state forests
Group hosts outings in Tillamook, Clatstop forests
The North Coast State Forest Coalition is sponsoring several hikes and other outings in the Tillamook and Clatsop state forests.
Upcoming ones include:
Forest Art Day at Sweet Home Creek, Saturday, Oct. 20, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.; bring your own art supplies.
Hike Buster Creek with spawning coho, Saturday, Nov. 3, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., hike with salmon specialist Bob Rees.
Seminar on river fishing for fall chinook, Thursday, Nov. 8, 6a;30 to 8:30 p.m.; professional fishing guide Bob Rees will discuss chinook salmon.
View spawning coho at Lousignont Creek, Saturday, Dec. 1, 8 a.m.
Steelhead fishing clinic, Saturday, Dec. 8; also with Bob Rees.
The North Coast State Forest Coalition advocates for protecting natural areas in the two state forests.
