City agency offers grant program.

Portland’s Bureau of Environmental Services is awarding grants of as much as $10,000 for community-based projects that benefit neighborhoods and improve watershed health inside the city.

Winning proposals might relate to neighborhood safety, health, livability, youth leadership, community gardens, green spaces, arts, education, cleanup and restoration, and stormwater management.

• Thursday, Jan. 31, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Southeast Uplift offices, 3534 S.E. Main St.

 • Monday, Feb. 4, 7:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m., Multnomah Arts Center, 7688 S.W. Capitol Highway 

 • Saturday, Feb. 9, 10:00 a.m. to noon, East Portland Community Center, 740 S.E. 106th Ave.

 • Wednesday, Feb. 13, 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., Kenton Library, 8226 N. Denver Ave.
