History pubs and science pubs are all the rage in Portland now.

Here’s a new one from the Johnson Creek Watershed Council: a frog and salamander pub.

In a Science Talk billed as “Foamy Frogs and Sudsy Salamanders,” two wildlife biologists will discuss urban frogs, newts and salamanders at Eagle Eye Tavern. It’s scheduled for Thursday, April 4, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Speakers are Laura Guderyahn, watershed restoration coordinator for the city of Gresham, and Meghan Young, the former amphibian monitoring program coordinator for the city of Portland.

Portland and Gresham scientists, working with volunteers, have been wading through streams, ponds, wetlands, and uplands to assess the amphibian population in the Johnson Creek watershed.

The tavern is located at 5836 S.E. 92nd Ave. in Portland. Food and drink will be available for sale.
