This year’s Better Living Show isn’t just a place to shop for new stuff (albeit with a green theme.) It’s also a place to recycle your old stuff.

Schnitzer Steel, a pioneer in metal recycling, is hosting The Recycling Plaza in conjunction with the trade show. The Portland-based company will donate its proceeds from the recycled metal collected to the Oregon Food Bank.

Items acceptable at Recycling Plaza go well beyond metal products, though. They include extension cords, printer cartridges, computers and peripherals, lawnmowers, washers and dryers, toaster ovens, golf clubs, ironing boards, metal lamps, Christmas lights and other items.

The Better Living Show takes place March 22 to 24 at Portland Expo Center.
