Lucid strikes deal for company to install, operate its in-pipe hydro power system
Site Based Energy, a four-year-old Idaho company, has agreed to be the principal investor and operator of a new in-pipe hydro power system developed by Portlands Lucid Energy called the Conduit 3 Hydroelectric Project.
Lucids installs turbines inside water pipes that produce electricity from gravity-fed moving water. It received regulatory approval this month to install its first commercial system in cooperation with the Portland Water Bureau. The system is expected to be completed by October.
Site Based Energy focuses on building small hydro projects throughout North America.
