The Lents neighborhood in Southeast Portland will host the first Neighborhood Nature Extravaganza, an opportunity to learn about green initiatives in the area and partake in a free barbeque.
The event, supported by Green Lents and the Audubon Society of Portland, will serve as a one-stop shopping trip for folks trying to be ecoactive in the Lents neighborhood. There will be live music, and Audubon will have some of its birds on display that are used for educational purposes. There will be activity stations for people to learn about the Backyard Habitat Certification Program, Pollinator Education, Green Streets, and a neighborhood habitat map.
It takes place on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m., at the corner of Southeast 104th Avenue and Yukon Street.
