Biomimicry visionary headlines Portland clean tech conference
Biomimicry visionary Jay Harman will pinch-hit as keynote speaker at this weeks BEST Fest, after Van Jones bowed out due to a scheduling conflict.
Harman is founder and chief executive of Pax Scientific, where he has tapped lessons from Mother Nature to design industrial equipment ranging from refrigeration and turbines to boats, fans, mixers and pumps.
Harman is the author of a just-released book, The Sharks Paintbrush; Biomimicry and How Nature is Inspiring Innovation.
Imagine Indiana Jones, Huckleberry Finn and Erasmus Darwin rolled into one person, and you will have some sense of what it is like to roam and see the world through Jay Harmans biomimetic eyes, says green entrepreneur Paul Hawken of the new book.
