Hundreds of Oregonians will take to the water Saturday, Oct. 5, for the fifth-annual Great Willamette Cleanup sponsored by Willamette Riverkeeper.
Volunteers will blanket the riverside from Eugene to Portland to pick up trash and leave the river in a healthier and prettier state.
Canoes and kayaks are available at some locations, and volunteers can bring their own.
Last year, more than 900 people volunteered in groups in the Portland area, Eugene, Corvallis, Salem and Newberg.
