A radio documentary premieres Monday, July 7, on the environmental impact of using Canadian tar sands as an energy source.
Titled "Fighting Goliath," the documentary by Portland producer Barbara Bernstein focuses on the use of Alberta's crude-oil reserves often called tar sands.
The documentary investigates the impact of shipping the fuel on an industrial truck route that runs through the Pacific Northwest and northern Rockies, as well as two pipeline proposals, which run from the Canadian Rockies to the British Columbia coast.
Tune into KBOO FM, 90.7 FM in the Portland area, at 10 a.m. Monday, July 7, to listen to the program. KBOO also can be heard at 91.9 in the Hood River area and 104.3 in the Corvallis area.
