COURTESY: BRIDES FOR A CAUSE - Brides for a Cause, a local nonprofit, holds an annual event that keeps bridal gowns -- worn only once in a lifetime -- in circulation for others to enjoy. Married recently and don't want to save your gown forever? Looking to buy a wedding dress but can't see buying a brand new one to wear just once in your life?

Eco- and budget-conscious brides can check out the Dress Dash event on Jan. 23.

The third annual event, hosted by radio staion Z100 and the nonprofit Brides for a Cause, will feature more than 500 wedding dresses, sizes 0-28, priced at $150 or less.

There will also be discounted veils and other accessories.

Proceeds will support Wish Upon A Wedding and Brides for a Cause. The organizations partnered three years ago to collect and resell donated wedding dresses.

They welcome donations of wedding dresses from 2010 or newer.

The event is set for 7-11 a.m. at the Abernethy Center, 606 15th Street in Oregon City.

Brides for a Cause also has a permanent bridal shop in Northeast Portland, with 1,500 used gowns available at discount. The boutique is at 4942 N.E. 20th Ave.
