Sandy Fire District will hold a centennial celebration from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 18, at the Sandy Grade School property, 38955 Pleasant St., Sandy.

The 100th birthday event will feature activities for the whole family and an antique apparatus and emergency vehicle show.

Along with a free swim day at Olin Bignall Aquatic Center, the celebration will feature a muster demonstration, kids’ bucket brigade, vehicle extrication exhibit, centennial memorabilia and food vendors.

The fire district’s professional photographers will take free photos of participants with the district’s 1940 antique fire engine and fire gear.
