Free health clinic coming Sept. 15

Compassion Sandy will take place from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 15, in the gym of the old Sandy High School, 17100 S.E. Bluff Road, offering free medical and dental services, vouchers for prescriptions, a community service and resources fair and free lunch.

The first-year event is first come, first served and includes childcare and interpreters for Spanish speakers.

Anyone in the Sandy area lacking health and dental insurance or the ability to pay for medical services is welcome.

Mt. Hood Lions support Welches schools

Mt. Hood Lions will hold its 22nd annual Steak and Prawn Dinner at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, at the club, 4730 Woodsey Way Highway 26, Welches.

Social hour begins at 6:30, with dinner at 7 p.m. Admission $15 at the door, or $12.00 with pre-sale tickets.

Proceeds will go to the Reading is Fundamental Welches Grade School Program. This furnishes students with their own personal book that they get to pick out and take home.

Attendees are asked to bring four cans of food to donate to the local food bank efforts.

Tickets are available at Welches Mountain Building Supply, Clackamas County Bank in Welches and Ace Hardware in Sandy.
