Police log

Information for the public safety column comes from public records of the Sandy Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

ARRESTS

2:31 p.m. Dec. 3; Juliana M. Buckholtz, 37, Estacada, was arrested in the 37400 block of Highway 26 under suspicion of assault. She was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $7,500 bail.

2:31 p.m. Dec. 3; Donald J. Vannoy, 40, transient, was arrested in the 37400 block of Highway 26 under suspicion of harassment. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $7,500 bail.

4:38 p.m. Dec. 5; Allan J. Ross, 58, Sandy, was arrested near Redwood Street and Barrington Avenue under suspicion of assault. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $7,500 bail.

12:16 p.m. Dec. 6; Kevin L. Diaz, 20, transient, was arrested in the 17000 block of Bluff Road under suspicion of criminal trespass. He was transported to the Clackamas County Jail, where he was cited and released.

12:16 p.m. Dec. 6; Jose E. Garcia, 27, transient, was arrested in the 17000 block of Bluff Road under suspicion of criminal trespass. He was transported to the Clackamas County Jail, where he was cited and released.

6:55 p.m. Dec. 6; Kenneth E. Goucher, 32, transient, was arrested in the 17000 block of Bluff Road under suspicion of attempted criminal trespass. He was transported to the Clackamas County Jail, where he was cited and released.

7:36 p.m. Dec. 6; Joshua I. Higdon, 22, Sandy, was arrested in the 38400 block of Park Street under suspicion of interference with making a police report. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $7,500 bail.

IMPAIRED DRIVING

12:34 a.m. Dec. 8; Steven P. Whitlock, 34, of Portland was arrested on Highway 26 near Orient Drive under suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He was transported to the Clackamas County Jail, where he was cited and released.

WARRANTS

8:46 p.m. Dec. 4; Kevin J. Van Wieringen, 55, of Sandy was arrested at the Sandy Police Station on a Clackamas County warrant for assaulting and interfering with a police officer, harassment and resisting arrest. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $40,000 bail.

11:44 p.m. Dec. 9; Justin M. Marcum, 32, of Portland was arrested in the 37600 block of Sandy Heights Street on a warrant for a parole violation. He was chased by several jurisdictions, crashing his vehicle several times and attempting to ram a sheriff’s car, ending the chase in Sandy. His charges, besides the warrant, include eluding a police officer, possession of methamphetamine, driving while suspended, reckless driving, reckless endangering and hit and run. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $67,500 bail.

CITATIONS

8:51 p.m. Dec. 3; Jonah M. Rivelli, 18, of Sandy was cited and released near Aubin and Chinook streets, accused of possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana.

THEFT

7:39 a.m. Dec. 3; a resident of the 17300 block of Beers Avenue reported that a vehicle had been stolen. Police located the vehicle less than two blocks away from the home, but it had been damaged in the incident.

9:33 p.m. Dec. 3; a resident of the 40100 block of McCormick Drive reported that a vehicle had been stolen between 8 and 9:30 p.m. that night. The vehicle was entered on a database for possible later identification.

9:58 a.m. Dec. 6; an employee of a business in the 39500 block of Proctor Boulevard reported that a company vehicle had its gas tank drilled and gas removed the previous night.

JUVENILES

11:30 a.m. Dec. 6; a 15-year-old boy was found in possession of marijuana after he left the high school campus during the school day. The youth was taken into custody and transported to the county juvenile department for corrective action. The youths who were with the boy were given school discipline for being off campus.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

8:30 a.m. Dec. 4; during the weekend, someone broke a large window at Cedar Ridge Middle School.

11:50 a.m. Dec. 9; at a cemetery in the 37700 block of Highway 26, a headstone was found knocked over and broken.

LOST AND FOUND

11 a.m. Dec. 4; a bicycle was located in the front yard of an abandoned home in the 17000 block of Bluff Road. The bicycle was placed in the police property room for safekeeping.

2:11 p.m. Dec. 6; an apparently abandoned bicycle was located in the 39600 block of Gary Street. The bicycle was placed in the police property room for safekeeping.
