Sandy business changes name

The former Awards & More business has a new name. Although the showroom remains in the same location, the business is now called Peak Trophy & Engraving.

The new name will more accurately identify some of the services that owner Grant Baker offers.

Among other changes the business has begun since its move to a different storefront, Peak Trophy & Engraving has a Facebook page called Peak Trophy. And Baker said he can now accept credit or debit cards for payment.

Products and services offered at Peak Trophy & Engraving include trophies and plaques for any occasion name tags, desk plaques, employee of the month or year, flasks resin sculptures, corporate awards, wedding gifts, anniversaries, holidays and birthdays.

Visit the showroom at 39120 Proctor Blvd., facing the off-street parking lot that serves Double Dragon Restaurant, Ace Hardware and Sandy Actors Theater.

For more information, call Baker at 503-668-7717 or send an email to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Another business changes its name

Tiffany Baker, owner of the former The Buzz @ Bakers Barbershop, has changed the name of the barbershop.

The business is now known as The Local Buzz, but in the change Baker has updated the barbershop to better fit the needs of her customers.

Nowadays, her clients will find there are four TVs in the shop, free popcorn and two local beers always on tap as well as two kids’ chairs and two barber chairs.

The Local Buzz also can receive credit cards for payment and the business has a Facebook page.

Simply place these words in the Facebook search: “The Local Buzz Sandy.”

Baker has added a second barber so kids can get a buzz while their parent is doing the same.

Baker asks: Where else can one get a haircut with a hot lather neck shave, hot towel, bay rum and neck massage while watching TV sports and drinking a local brew?

Walk-ins only, but for information call 503-866-2020.
