Police log

Information for the public safety column comes from public records of the Sandy Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

ARRESTS

8:08 p.m. Feb. 19; Nicholas T York, 35, Sandy, was arrested at a business in the 38700 block of Proctor Boulevard under suspicion of possession of more than one ounce of marijuana. He also was cited for trespassing. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $25,000 bail.

3:38 p.m. Feb. 23; Kellina A. Ramirez, 31, a transient, was arrested in the 39600 block of Dubarko Road under suspicion of criminal trespass. She was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $3,500 bail.

11:43 a.m. Feb. 24; Lawrence P. Nyberg, 42, a transient, was arrested in Meinig Park under suspicion of being a registered sex offender who is out of compliance with registering his address. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $15,000 bail.

WARRANTS

9:59 p.m. Feb. 19; Gerald J. Zimmerman, 31, Sandy, was arrested in the 37600 block of Highway 26 on a Clackamas County warrant for felony assault. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $7,500 bail.

7:35 p.m. Feb. 23; Joshua B. Shaw, 39, Sandy, was arrested at his home in the 16900 block of Bluff Road on a Deschutes County warrant for a probation violation for driving while intoxicated. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $5,000 bail.

MISCELLANEOUS

7:49 p.m. Feb. 20; a business in the 17000 block of Ruben Lane reported receiving a counterfeit bill. The bill was sent to the U.S. Secret Service, and an investigation continues.

8:06 p.m. Feb. 22; two residents — one in the 38700 block of Sawyer Street and another in the 17700 block of Van Fleet Avenue — reported someone entered their cars parked outside their homes overnight even though the vehicles were locked, but nothing was taken from either one.

THEFT

2 p.m. Feb. 21; a male student at Sandy High School reported that an electronic device had been stolen at school in an area where there are no surveillance cameras.

7:30 p.m. Feb. 22; a resident of the 37900 block of Nettie Connett Drive reported that his vehicle was stolen while it was parked alongside the street.

2 p.m. Feb. 24; a Portland woman reported losing her wallet Feb. 22 in one of two places in Sandy. The wallet eventually was recovered, but $65 in cash was missing.

BURGLARY

5:17 p.m. Feb. 22; a resident of the 39200 block of Hood Street reported that sometime in the early morning someone pried open a door and took a large electronic game box. No suspects were identified, but the investigation continues.
