Legal issues on chamber luncheon agenda

Today’s luncheon meeting of the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce will feature a presentation on overlooked business issues from a legal point of view.

Jay McRostie of Young Twedt McRostie of Gresham will present the program.

The chamber’s monthly networking luncheon meeting is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 13, in the Sandy Fire Department Annex, 17459 Bruns Ave.

Wong’s King Restaurant will cater the $12 luncheon. Organizers are asking for RSVP.

The Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce will have its Good Morning Sandy networking event at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 20, in the Community Room of the Sandy Public Library. Sandy Kiwanis is sponsoring the event.

The event is held to give opportunities for local entrepreneurs to meet people from other businesses, while enjoying some fun and door prizes.

Bring a dollar to enter a drawing, which gives prizes to the winners and saves 50 cents from each entrant to pay for gifts and food for a needy family next Christmas.

Here’s help promoting your business

A 60-minute brown bag workshop on “How promotional items improve business and increase profit” will be given at noon Thursday, March 28, in the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce office, 38963 Pioneer Blvd.

Bring your lunch for a presentation by Eric Torgerson of Logo Xing.

Torgerson will describe the basics of brand recognition and offer some cost-effective ways to stay in touch with customers.

Sandy business is sustainable

The Zeb’s Wish Equine Sanctuary from Sandy will attend the largest gathering of sustainable vendors in the Northwest.

The Better Living Show takes place at the Portland Expo Center March 22-24, where experts will showcase the best in high-performance, eco-friendly products and services for every aspect of living a better life.

Zeb’s Wish Equine Sanctuary, located a short distance southwest of Sandy, is a self-funded nonprofit organization that rescues, treats and heals abandoned or abused horses, ponies, mules and donkeys.
