Police log

Information for the public safety column comes from public records of the Sandy Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

ARRESTS

12:58 a.m. April 10; Melissa S. Mills, 34, Sandy, was arrested in the 39100 block of Proctor Boulevard under suspicion of possession of methamphetamine. She was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $15,000 bail.

12:43 a.m. April 14; Shane J. Herman, 31, Portland, was arrested in the 38500 block of Galway Street under suspicion of harassment after being accused of shoving a woman who was holding an infant. He also was cited for having an open bottle of vodka in his car while driving away from the woman. He was located in his vehicle on 362nd Drive, arrested, transported and lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $3,500 bail.

WARRANTS

5:12 p.m. April 8; Tracey G. Gray, 32, transient, was arrested near Meinig Avenue and Highway 211 on a Clackamas County warrant for failure to appear for criminal mischief. He also was charged with identity theft and criminal possession of fictitious identification. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $75,000 bail.

10:26 a.m. April 12; Michael J. Weller, 21, Eagle Creek, was arrested in the 38900 block of Proctor Boulevard on a Multnomah County warrant for a parole violation for possession of cocaine. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail without bail.

2:12 p.m. April 13; Edward R. Hollenbeck, 37, Sandy, was arrested in the 39500 block of Gary Street on a Clackamas County warrant for failure to appear for criminal mischief. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $10,000 bail.

IMPAIRED DRIVING

11:04 p.m. April 13; Rachel A. Hill, 26, Sandy, was arrested on Highway 26 near 362nd Drive under suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was cited and released at the Sandy Police department.

CITATIONS

4:44 p.m. April 10; Jacoby D. Liaty, 18, Welches, was cited and released at a business in the 16600 block of 362nd Drive, accused of stealing, over several months, about $420 from the business while he was employed there.

8:49 p.m. April 12; Shawn K. Gaines, 20, Eagle Creek, was cited and released near Pioneer Boulevard and Strauss Avenue, accused of driving without liability insurance and an expired license tag as well as possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana. The vehicle was towed.

9:55 p.m. April 13; Josiah L. Deck, 31, Portland, was cited and released near Pioneer Boulevard and Strauss Avenue, accused of driving while suspended, without liability insurance and with a missing license plate. The vehicle was towed.

6:57 p.m. April 13; Tyler D. Hardy, 19, Sandy, was cited and released near Ruben Lane and Dubarko Road, accused of driving while suspended and without liability insurance, and could not show ownership of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed.

THEFT

4:42 p.m. April 9; a man was detained by store personnel after he was discovered shoplifting. But the man became uncooperative, would not wait for police to arrive and fled the scene after leaving the merchandise behind. Police are conducting an investigation.

JUVENILES

1:28 p.m. April 3; a 16- and 17-year-old brother and sister were detained for police after being observed shoplifting at a business in the 16600 block of 362nd Drive. They were charged with theft, minor in possession of alcohol and possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana. They were referred to the county juvenile department for corrective action, but were released to their mother.

10 a.m. April 4; a 16-year-old boy was discovered in possession of marijuana at Sandy High School.

He was charged with possession of marijuana within 1,000 feet of a school and taken to the county juvenile department for corrective action.
