Information for the public safety column comes from public records of the Sandy Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

ARRESTS

3:09 a.m. May 11; Jeffrey D. McCarter, 42, a transient, was arrested in the 37400 block of Highway 26 under suspicion of menacing. He also was held on a Multnomah County warrant for a parole violation. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail without bail.

3:09 a.m. May 11; Kenneth J. Freeman, 25, Troutdale, was arrested in the 37400 block of Highway 26 under suspicion of possession of burglary tools. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $7,500 bail.

WARRANTS

2:06 p.m. May 10; Anthony M. Ambriz, 54, Sandy, was arrested in the 38700 block of Pioneer Boulevard on three Clackamas County warrants for distribution of methamphetamine, two counts of possession of methamphetamine, and possession of hydrocodone. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $100,000 bail.

2:16 p.m. May 10; Maranda L. Norris, 32, Sandy, was arrested in the 39300 block of Pleasant Street on a Clackamas County warrant for disobeying a probation officer’s directive. She was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail without bail.

5:13 p.m. May 11; John A. Kusek, 53, a transient, was arrested in the 18000 block of Langensand Road on a Multnomah County warrant for a parole violation for consumption of alcohol. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail without bail.

8:21 p.m. May 12; James D. Lenhart, 37, Government Camp, was arrested near Highway 26 and Vista Loop on a Hood River County warrant for failure to appear for driving while intoxicated. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $7,500 bail.

IMPAIRED DRIVING

10:07 p.m. May 11; Elizabeth A. Karst, 32, Sandy, was arrested at her home under suspicion of driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Clackamas County Jail, where she was lodged on $7,500 bail.

CITATIONS

10:44 p.m. May 6; Matthew P. Keller, 24, Yakima, Wash., was cited and released near Highway 26 and Luzon Lane, accused of possession of less than 1 ounce of marijuana.

8:33 p.m. May 11; Christopher M. Ferretti, 36, Gresham, was cited and released near Highway 26 and Bluff Road, accused of driving while suspended and without liability insurance. The vehicle was towed.

11:08 p.m. May 12; Anne E. Clarke, 30, Sandy, was cited and released near Highway 26 and Bluff Road, accused of driving without liability insurance and an expired vehicle license. The vehicle was towed because she had stopped in the driveway of a business.

BURGLARY

2:25 p.m. May 10; overnight someone tried to get inside a business in the 39000 block of Pioneer Boulevard. The only damage was to the door and its casing, estimated at $200. No suspects were identified.

THEFT

10:13 a.m. May 9; an officer noticed a water tanker filling up from a city hydrant near Buena Vista Street and Chula Vista Avenue. The tanker driver told the officer he didn’t have permission to take the water.

The city’s water department was informed, and it will bill the construction company using the water.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

9:33 a.m. May 6; during the past three days someone placed graffiti in Meinig Park. The damage had a reported value of $50.

10:06 a.m. May 8; overnight someone placed graffiti in Meinig Park. The damage had a reported value of $25.

8:23 a.m. May 10; recently someone placed graffiti on a guardrail on private property in the 17700 block of Tupper Road.
