Boring theater offers free comedy night

Bring chair or blanket and a picnic dinner and enjoy the show

People who can make others laugh are in short supply. That’s why the Nutz-n-Boltz Theater Company in Boring is encouraging people to learn and practice comedy.

Not the kind where people speak memorized lines, but improvisational comedy.

Say the first thing that comes to your mind, and make it funny.

That takes practice, and local residents have been invited to a free performance of improv comedy — on the grass, under the tree near the Boring-Damascus Grange Hall.

The event begins at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 22, and the hall is located just off Highway 212 on Grange Street in downtown Boring.

Artistic Director Kelly Lazenby suggests bringing a chair or a blanket and a picnic dinner, with the hope that some spectators will want to participate.

Lazenby says come and watch the NNB comedy team act out skits and routines based on suggestions from the audience.
