Police log

Information for the public safety column comes from public records of the Sandy Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

ARRESTS

n 3:55 p.m. Sept. 16; Timothy C. Spargur, 50, Eagle Creek; arrested after allegedly paying for merchandise with a forged $50 bill at a business in the 36800 block of Highway 26. A close family member also was referred to the district attorney on allegations of hindering prosecution. Spargur was booked on suspicion of first-degree forgery and criminal possession of a forged instrument. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail on $30,000 bail.

WARRANT ARRESTS

n 8:27 a.m. Sept. 17; Edward H. Holford, 46, Milwaukie; arrested in the 39400 block of Gary Street on a Multnomah County warrant for possession of cocaine. He was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail without bail.

n 11:59 p.m. Sept. 17; Kelly M. Wolf, 34, Sandy: arrested near Pioneer Boulevard and Bruns Avenue on a Clackamas County parole violation warrant. She also was cited for driving while suspended and having an expired vehicle registration She was lodged in the Clackamas County Jail without bail.

DRIVING IMPAIRED

n 2:22 p.m. Sept. 21; Cory A. Evans, 21, Boring: arrested near Proctor Boulevard and Scales Avenue under suspicion of driving while under the influence of drugs. He was released at the scene.

n 3:09 a.m. Sept. 22; Isaac V. Duran, 30, Sandy: arrested in the 35400 block of Highway 26 for a traffic violation and suspicion of driving while intoxicated. He consented to a breath test and was released at the scene. Charges have been forwarded to the district attorney’s office.

CITATIONS

n 11:14 p.m. Sept. 20; Cassandra K. Thompson-Coleman, 21, Boring; cited and released near Highway 26 and Langensand Road on allegations of driving without liability insurance and for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.

n 6:34 p.m. Sept. 21; Dominic J. Jackson, 22, Gresham; cited and released in the 16600 block of 362nd Drive on accusations of taking merchandise without paying. Jackson allegedly told the investigating officer he had stolen the $80 worth of merchandise in Sandy in order to return it for cash at a similar store in Gresham. This case will be referred to the district attorney’s office for criminal prosecution.

BURGLARY

n 11:37 a.m. Sept. 17; someone entered a residence in the 39600 block of Dubarko Road and stole a handgun and a bottle of prescription medicine. The case is under investigation, but there were no signs of forced entry.

n 2:45 p.m. Sept. 22; sometime between Sept. 9 and 12 someone entered a residence in the 37900 block of Sunset Street and stole three guns. The case is under investigation, but there were no signs of forced entry.

THEFT

n 5:11 p.m. Sept. 17; nearly $9,000 worth of jewelry and a cell phone were taken from a residence in the 39100 block of Dubarko Road during a party Sept. 8. Police are investigating persons of interest.

n 6 p.m. Sept. 21; a man reported a backpack was taken from a business in the 39100 block of Pioneer Boulevard. Later, the man walked around town and found the backpack discarded in an alley, with everything inside. There are no suspects.

JUVENILES

n 12:58 p.m. Sept. 20; several students at Sandy High School were interviewed, and they eventually turned over drug paraphernalia to police.

n 10:40 a.m. Sept. 20; a teenage boy attending Sandy High School was excluded from the school because he was not enrolled as a student there. He was told he would be arrested if found on the campus again.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

n 11:02 a.m. Sept. 18; vandalism was reported at Cedar Ridge Middle School. The suspect was interrupted when a Sandy Police vehicle approached the school, but the officer did not see the suspect run away.

MISCELLANEOUS

n 6:03 p.m. Sept. 6; an officer saw that a streetlight and pole had been hit, broken and knocked down near Buena Vista Street and Champion Way. No suspects were seen or heard, and there were no witnesses.

LOST AND FOUND

n 7:19 p.m. Aug. 15; a cell phone was found at a business in the 37600 block of Highway 26. The phone was given to a Sandy Police officer, who placed it in the department’s property room for safekeeping.

n 2:31 p.m. Aug. 17; an identification badge for an employee of a nearby city was reported lost at a business in the 36800 block of Highway 26. Police checked with employees of the business, and no one had found the badge.

n 7:18 a.m. Aug. 21; a Sandy man told police he left a bag of tools after working at Sandy Elementary School, returning a day later to find the bag missing.

n 11:20 p.m. Aug. 31; a Sandy man told police he found a bicycle in his yard in the 17900 block of Langensand Road. The bike was placed in the police property room for safekeeping.

n 5:03 p.m. Aug. 31; a Sandy resident found some jewelry while the resident was walking on the western end of the Tickle Creek Trail. The jewelry was placed in the police department’s property room for safekeeping.

n 7:13 p.m. Sept. 1; a Sandy man found a wallet belonging to a California man near Highway 211 and Meinig Avenue. The wallet was placed in the police department’s property room for safekeeping.

n 8:30 p.m. Sept. 9; someone from a local business found tools near the business in the 36900 block of Highway 26. The unidentified tools were placed in the police property room for safekeeping.

n 7:45 a.m. Sept. 23; a toy replica of a firearm was found near Sandy High School (near Bluff Road and Hood Street). Police seized the replica. The toy gun was placed in the police property room for safekeeping.

n 4:56 p.m. Sept. 12; police received a report that a bicycle had been chained to a building in the 16600 block of 362nd Drive for the past two months. The bicycle was placed in the police property room for safekeeping.
