Health insurance chamber’s topic

At its next luncheon, the Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce will consider a topic on the minds of many: healthcare reform.

The two speakers have many years of experience in the medical insurance industry. Matthew Woodburn and Verena Lewandowski will attempt to answer questions about how any changes in medical insurance could affect local businesses.

They will talk about the requirements for both large and small groups and explain what is called the “exchange.”

Chariteas is catering the $12 lunch. Those who do not want lunch will be assessed a $6 fee. Seating is limited, so RSVP immediately by calling 503-668-4006.

Chamber needs board members

The Sandy Area Chamber of Commerce is looking for a few good men or women, business owners or operators, who would serve on the chamber’s board of directors.

Some of the board’s two-year positions are ending in December, and the board is trying to find out who would be able to make the commitment.

For more information, or to throw your hat into the ring, call Karey at 503-668-4006 or Madeleine at 503-453-5993.
