Sandy police log

Information for the public safety column comes from public records of the Sandy Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

ASSAULT

• Police arrested Ernest D. Desrosiers, 48, of Sandy, at 9:45 p.m. Friday, Oct. 11, on accusations of fourth-degree assault, strangulation and menacing.

Officers responding to a report of a domestic disturbance found that the female victim had fled to a neighbor’s home to escape her husband, who was highly intoxicated and still at their home in the 17600 block of Bluff Road.

Police arrested the man and lodged him at the Clackamas County Jail on $22,500 bail.

GRAFFITI

• A citizen reported someone sprayed graffiti on the home’s garage door, sometime between 5 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9, and 10:50 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 10.

• A resident in the 17400 block of Meinig Avenue reported someone sprayed graffiti on the property sometime between 6 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 29 and noon, Monday Oct. 7.

IMPAIRED DRIVING

• John K. Cass, 55, of Sandy was arrested at 8:44 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12 on allegations of driving under the influence of intoxicants and reckless driving at Reed Circle and Gary Street. He was later cited and released from the Clackamas County Jail.

BURGLARY

• Someone stole about $170 in cash and a $400 statue from a home in the 17200 block of Beers Avenue, between 12:01 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. Monday, Sept. 23.

• Someone tried to break into a restaurant in the 17400 block of Scales Avenue, between 10 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, and 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 8, by using a pry tool. Damage to the door was estimated at $500.

DRUGS

• A 16-year-old female student was taken into protective custody at 10:34 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 9, and transported to the Juvenile Reception Center on possession of a controlled substance.

A 17-year-old male student was later charged with delivery of a schedule II controlled substance. Both teens were removed from the campus at Sandy High School in the 38700 block of Pioneer Boulevard.

THEFT

• A female was stopped for shoplifting items from a store in the 38700 block of Pioneer Boulevard at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 9. Some of the merchandise was recovered but most was damaged.
