Senior center hosts Alzheimer's Association

Four presentations will be given on the disease


The Alzheimer’s Association of Oregon is in the midst of a series of presentations hosted by the Sandy Senior Center.

The next presentation is scheduled for 1:30-3 p.m. on Wednesday, July 23, at the center, 38348 Pioneer Blvd.

The topic will be “The Basics: Memory Loss, Dementia and Alzheimer’s Disease.”

Mt. Hood Hospice Medical Director Dr. Glen Patrizio, will also participate in the session on July 23. His presentation, focusing on the final stages of dementia disease processes, will immediately follow the main presentation, from 3-4 p.m.

Following the July 23 event, the Alzheimer’s Association will host three more discussions.

From 2-3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 13, the association will discuss “Communication and Alzheimer’s Disease;” from 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 27, the topic will be “Overall Communication” and from 1:30-3 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 24, “Driving and Dementia” will be offered.

Each presentation will take place at the Sandy Senior Center.
